During the event, set to take place in Milan on 21st November, industry experts will discuss developments, challenges and solutions associated to the deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems, as well as a showcase of Sungrow’s cutting-edge products, for the first time in Italy.

Milan, 11th November 2024 – As renewable energy production grows, Italy aims to reach carbon neutrality in 2050 and is currently on track to achieve 30% of renewables in total energy consumption and 55% of renewables in electricity generation, in line with the country’s 2030 targets. In recent years, Italy has in fact succeeded in reducing its demand for natural gas in electricity generation and accelerating the shift towards alternative energy sources, renewables in particular, helping to strengthen energy security and meet climate targets.

A key issue with renewable sources such as photovoltaic and wind, however, is the inconsistency of the power supply, which is inherently dependent on light/darkness cycles as well as weather conditions. In order to harvest the full potential of renewables, and ensure an optimal contribution to decarbonization, electric grids need stabilizing, and a valid solution is represented by Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
