Sungrow steps up efforts to integrate eco-design into the R&D system, takes measures such as lightweighting and hazardous substance control into consideration during the stages of product development and technical research, reduces the generation of industrial solid waste through optimized designs, and promotes the recycling of renewable resources. The PowerTitan2.0 battery modules require steel band strapping. While steel bands offer high strength, they have high density and cost. Simulation results revealed that basalt fiber-reinforced plastic straps can meet the expansion force requirements of battery modules. Replacing steel bands with basalt composite straps reduces the weight of each battery module by at least 0.4 kg.

Sungrow prioritizes ecological and biodiversity conservation throughout project development. When developing and constructing renewable energy stations, we adhere to the principles of respecting, adapting to, and protecting nature. Prior to site selection, we conduct biodiversity and migratory bird assessments to ensure our projects neither occupy nor impact biodiversity-rich areas or bird migration routes. Furthermore, we implement targeted mitigation measures for potential ecological issues such as soil erosion, wastewater, and fire risks.

Factory operating will generate waste gas, wastewater, and waste during production activities. How we manage these pollutants will affect the air, soil, and groundwater environment of factories and surrounding communities, and their transportation and final disposal methods may also have environmental impacts. Sungrow is promoting sustainable operation by setting targets and strengthening management for pollutant and waste emissions, with a 100% coverage rate of the Environmental Management System. Additionally, targets have been established for 2025 to reduce VOC emissions per unit product by 30% compared to 2020, and particulate matter emissions by 75%. The actual emission intensity is expected to decrease by 47% and 88% in 2024. For hazardous waste, all disposal methods comply with legal requirements and are entrusted to third-party organizations for disposal, including recycling, incineration, and temporary storage.
